Roast Chicken with a Sticky Ginger Honey Sauce

The phrase "you are what you eat" couldn't be further from the truth and eating foods that are full of artificial growth hormones and sprayed with pesticides only eventually find themselves into your system which has been scientifically proven to cause harm and array of diseases and cancers.  Organic produce and meat is fresher because it's free from preservatives, are not genetically modified and tends to have less synthetic pesticides. Animals are not fed animal byproducts or growth hormones so this helps to promote healthy and the natural growth of produce and of the animals that are breed on organic farms for human consumption.

I have always considered myself a healthy eater, however since my mums sister (my second mum) was diagnosed and later passed away to Colon Cancer, which is typically caused by the unhealthy types of food you eat, I made a vow to make sure that at the very least, 80% of my diet would  be organic.

 

If at anytime I cannot get my hands on organic produce, I go for GMO free fruit and veg and free range, grass fed meat or corn fed chicken.

Prep Time: 10 mins

Cooking Time: 50 mins

Serves: 2 - 4

*All fresh ingredients used for this recipe are organic from Graig Organic Farms unless otherwise stated.

 

 Ingredients:

 

CHICKEN

 

1 tsp Organic Honey

1 tsp Black Pepper 

3 tsp Aroma All Purpose Seasoning 

1 tsp Paprika 

1/2 tsp Nutmeg

1/2 Chilli Flakes 

1 tsp Garlic Granules 

1 tsp Ginger Powder

Curly Parsley, chopped

What you'll need:

 

Sauce Pan 

Knife

Chopping Board

Spatula

Oven Tray

Small/Medium Mixing Bowl

Spoon 

Cup or measuring jug

 

Method:

 

Pre heat oven: Fan 200°C or Gas Mark 6

 

Place chicken in a large bowl and start by cleaning and

removing any stray hairs and unwanted skin. 

 

Squeeze over a fresh lemon, rub in and let it sit for 2-3 minutes then rinse off with water. 

 

Once the chicken is clean, add all the seasonings, spices and herbs. 

Rub in thoroughly and set aside for 10 minutes, then place into the oven for 50 mins.

Once chicken is ready, brush over with your sticky ginger honey sauce and 

serve with vegetables or brown rice. 

 

I served mine with this delicious purple sprouting broccoli from Riverford Organic Farmers,

tossed in sesame seed oil, garlic and pepper.
